I’m Chinese and we Asians love our Spam. Yes, for real. We cook it in stir fry, we eat it straight and Jack In The Box restaurants in Hawaii, where I have a lot of relatives, even have Spam items on their regular menu. Email Spam is a different story.

The last couple of days, I’ve been getting a lot of odd SPAMMY emails from friends. The emails have some horrible Engrish non-sense, like “Feel yourself like a celebrity!..” and “Rid of your impotence!.” Then a link with an affiliate ID that takes you to sites to purchase things like Hydrocodone or Viagry at a Canadian Pharmacy.

I haven’t seen emails like this in a long time and I’ve been trying to help friends determine where they are coming from.
Again, the senders are friends. They emails seem to be sent to 5-10 people at a time and they are blocks straight from their address books.
One was from a friend’s Yahoo account and another was from a friend’s AOL account.

In both cases, they were still able to log into their accounts, so their credentials weren’t altered, but there was also no traces left behind in the Sent Items folder either.

Very, very strange. Anyone have any insight?
